Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25kg in a warehouse environment. Strong verbal communication skills, reliability, and basic numeracy are essential for success in this role.
Job Description
As a Warehouse Operative*, you are responsible for correctly and accurately receiving, locating, picking, and dispatching customer orders whilst maintaining the integrity of the inventory control system. You may specialise in one function such as receiving, picking or shipping which can change based upon the needs of our customers.
What You’ll Do
- Receive and un-load deliveries to ensure accurate proof of delivery information
- Check deliveries to confirm that items and quantities received are as specified
- Accurately and efficiently input deliveries into the inventory management system against purchase orders
- Ensure that all stock received is correctly labelled and placed in the appropriate location
- Accurately pick products and report any discrepancies
- Perform quality checks to ensure products and quantities are correct
- Ensure all orders are adequately packaged for transportation
- Operate the mechanical equipment in line with regulations and policy
- Apply regulations regarding storage and product handling
- Maintain comprehensive filing system ensuring that all records are easily accessible
- In line with the business needs, flexibility may be required on working hours
- Established verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all partners
- Proven track record of attendance and reliability
- Accurate counting ability
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment which includes changes in temperature as weather fluctuates
- Ability to perform eight or more hours of standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping and carrying products in combination at any given time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15kg of force frequently (34-67% of the workday) and up to 25kg of force occasionally (0-33% of the workday)
- Educated to GCSE standard preferably in Maths and English
- Flexibility with working hours in line with business needs
- Ability to use initiative, work as part of a team and produce quality work
