Job Description

Great veterinary care starts with people who love what they do.

We're looking for passionate Veterinary Surgeons to join our friendly and supportive team at our newest 24/7 veterinary hospital in Warrington, Cheshire.

Whether your passion lies in surgery, medicine or consulting, we offer the opportunity to do more of what you love, working with a varied and rewarding caseload in a fantastic hospital environment.

At Animal Trust, we're a purpose-driven veterinary social enterprise with a simple belief: Every pet deserves access to excellent veterinary care, without cost becoming an unnecessary barrier.

We reinvest in our people, facilities and services rather than maximising profits, creating an environment where our teams can thrive, develop their clinical interests and focus on delivering the right care for every patient.

A role that works for you

We know no two vets are the same, which is why we're offering opportunities to suit different clinical interests and working patterns:

  • Surgically biased roles: Three days in theatre and one day consulting each week.
  • Medically biased roles: Emergency medicine and inpatient care, working just 11 shifts over three weeks.
  • Daytime inpatient roles: Dedicated opportunities to manage hospitalised patients and provide continuity of care.
  • Lead Vet opportunity: Clinical leadership with no weekend commitments.
  • Part-time and flexible working: Alternative rotas and working patterns are welcome for discussion.

Standard full-time rota: 40 hours over four days, with a 2:9 weekend rota for applicable roles.

Our benefits include:

  • Six weeks' annual leave, including bank holidays.
  • Up to 52 weeks' sickness benefit, subject to scheme terms.
  • Private healthcare after a qualifying period.
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid.
  • Funded CPD and support for further qualifications.
  • Visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.
  • Relocation assistance may be considered.
  • 20% staff discount and Perkbox discounts.
  • 4% employer pension contribution.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity packages.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Cycle to Work and electric car schemes.

Why Animal Trust?

Our values, Animal Welfare First, Right Care Right Cost, Together with Purpose and Expertise in Practice, shape how we care for our patients and support each other.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your clinical interests, work alongside a supportive team and help shape a new hospital from day one.

Practice veterinary medicine with purpose. Help us make excellent care accessible to more pets and their people.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you.
