About Newcastle University Biostatistics Research Group

Newcastle University's Biostatistics Research Group (BRG) sits within the Population Health Sciences Institute; one of three Research Institutes in the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The BRG consists of applied and methodological biostatisticians with a variety of backgrounds and experience, working together to improve health and social care by improving medical research. BRG members provide statistical expertise across all stages of research projects; from design, grant application and data collection, through to analysis and reporting of results. The BRG works closely with Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit and the NIHR Research Design Service North East and North Cumbria on a large portfolio of clinical trials and observational studies. As well as supporting real clinical trials, the BRG has an ever-growing methodology research group focused on the development and dissemination of innovative statistical methods to improve the efficiency of trials.
