What you’ll be doing
To coordinate the identification, prioritisation and delivery of fault and defect repairs across the Substations Delivery Area, ensuring assets are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with network performance objectives. Working closely with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders, you will support asset health management, repair planning and project delivery.
Assist and coordinate fault and defect management activities across the Substations Delivery Area.
Monitor asset health and analyse condition data to identify repair priorities and support network performance.
Develop and track repair plans, ensuring defects are resolved safely and efficiently.
Coordinate repair projects, including contractor engagement, materials, procurement and project administration.
Plan and facilitate outages to enable fault and defect repairs alongside maintenance and capital works.
Work closely with operational teams, schedulers and stakeholders to deliver repair programmes and optimise resources.
Prepare work instructions and supporting documentation for non-routine activities.
Manage contractor performance, safety and compliance, including audits and reporting.
What You'll Bring
Experience managing/resolving faults, defects, maintenance or asset repair activities within electrical transmission, power, utilities, industrial or engineering environments.
Strong planning and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, contractors and stakeholders.
Knowledge of substation assets and asset health management, including fault diagnosis, repair planning and risk mitigation.
Experience coordinating outages, resources and work schedules to safely deliver maintenance and repair activities.
Ability to analyse technical data and translate findings into practical repair and improvement plans.
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage with engineers, technicians, contractors and operational teams.
Commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards, with experience managing contractor performance and compliance.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement, mentoring colleagues and supporting operational excellence.
Minimum Criteria
HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, or significant relevant industry experience.
Experience working within substations, operational sites or similar engineering environments
Knowledge of fault and defect management, maintenance planning, asset health monitoring or project coordination.
Full UK driving licence.
Excellent communication skills
Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
