Job Summary

Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioners (CYWPs) play a key role in providing early mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people in community settings and are part of NHS England Children and Young People's (CYP) Psychological Trainings programme.

During this training role , the post-holder will work under supervision to gain experience to enable them to meet the competence required to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, CBT-Informed early interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems within Bolton CAMHS .

The programme is of 12 months duration and consists of a combination of taught days provided by GMMH Psychological Therapies Training Centre, independent self-guided study days and closely supervised practice experience gained within Bolton CAMHS .

On successful completion of training, trainees on the CYWP programme will be equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge and capabilities to work as a qualified CYWP within their scope of practice, alongside colleagues.

Main duties of the job

To work closely within the multi- disciplinary team at Bolton CAMHS.

Assess young people and deliver, under supervision, outcome focused, evidence-based low intensity interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties according to skills and competences developed within the training programme

Attend all required training days

Complete and submit all necessary assessed work in order to pass the training course.
