Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse based at Ailsa Hospital & University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
2x 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
Work as a key team member of the Tissue Viability Team, to provide specialist advice to practitioners on complex wound management based on best available evidence
Support healthcare professionals to holistically manage complex therapeutic interventions using multiple approaches to decision making.
Develop, deliver and evaluate multidisciplinary education programmes for healthcare and social services staff based on evidence-based practice in relation to Tissue Viability including focusing on pressure ulcer prevention and management strategies and leg ulcer assessment and management.
Be actively involved in supporting induction for Nurses and Health Care Support workers
Evaluation of products based on research and clinical evidence to ensure cost effectiveness use of resources.
Support the lead TVN with the development, co-ordination and evaluation of organisation wide Tissue Viability policies, protocols, guidelines in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in order to improve patient care.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
First level registration with post registration experience.
Educated to degree level.
Post registration qualification/portfolio of evidence in Tissue Viability and experience in wound management /tissue viability, equivalent to post graduate diploma level.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills and experience of working within a team.
Ability to network at all levels and across the organisational boundaries.
Be able to demonstrate leadership qualities.
