Job Description

Your new company
Technology is at the heart of growth, innovation and customer experience for this leading retail business. As the organisation continues to invest heavily in its technology capability, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technology Procurement Lead to shape and deliver the commercial strategy across a substantial and diverse technology spend portfolio.

This is a senior leadership position offering genuine influence across the business. Working alongside Technology, Finance, Legal and Sustainability leaders, you will play a pivotal role in driving commercial value, strengthening supplier partnerships and supporting key investment decisions that directly impact business performance.

Your new role
As Technology Procurement Lead, you will lead the organisation's technology procurement strategy, acting as the primary commercial partner to senior technology stakeholders and providing strategic advice on supplier strategy, commercial risk and technology investment decisions.

Managing a broad portfolio spanning Infrastructure, Professional Services, SaaS, Digital Platforms, Networks, Data Centres, Managed Services and Consultancy, you will take ownership of complex sourcing projects, commercial negotiations, contract management and supplier performance.

This role goes well beyond traditional procurement. You will operate at senior leadership level, working closely with executive stakeholders, influencing decision-making and helping shape the future direction of technology sourcing across the business. You'll also provide leadership and direction to an established technology procurement team, driving best practice, governance and commercial rigour while developing capability and performance.

For an experienced procurement professional who enjoys operating in a visible, fast-moving environment, this is an opportunity to make a tangible impact while leading a strategically important category.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be an accomplished technology procurement professional with experience leading complex procurement activity across categories such as Infrastructure, Professional Services, Managed Services, SaaS and Digital.

You will have a proven track record of delivering high-value sourcing projects, negotiating complex commercial agreements and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including executive and C-suite leaders. Confidence, credibility and the ability to challenge constructively are essential.

Strong commercial acumen, negotiation expertise and analytical capability are critical, alongside the ability to identify opportunities for cost optimisation, process improvement and supplier performance enhancement. You will also bring previous people leadership experience and be comfortable coaching, mentoring and developing experienced procurement professionals.

A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, alongside professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS or MCIPS. Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment and exposure to technology procurement governance, strategic sourcing and stakeholder management will be highly valued.

What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior procurement leader to take ownership of a high-profile technology category at a time of significant investment and transformation. You'll gain exposure to major sourcing initiatives, strategic technology programmes and executive-level stakeholders while helping shape the future direction of technology procurement.

You will receive a competitive salary with some fantastic benefits, including a bonus scheme, flexible/hybrid working options and much more.

You'll join a business where procurement has a strong voice, where your expertise will influence key commercial decisions and where you'll have the autonomy to drive meaningful change across supplier relationships, sourcing strategy and commercial performance. Whether your background is in Technology Procurement, IT Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Category Management, this role offers the platform to further develop your leadership credentials while delivering measurable business value.
