About JAMESY7 LTDJAMESY7 LTD is a growing UK professional services company providing tax consultancy, accountancy, payroll, VAT, Corporation Tax, Self Assessment, CIS, bookkeeping and HMRC compliance support to individuals, self-employed clients, landlords, directors, CIS workers and small companies.
The company is expanding its tax and accountancy department due to increasing client demand and the upcoming Making Tax Digital requirements. We are looking for a professional, reliable and detail-focused Taxation Expert to support our growing client base and maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance and client service.
Role PurposeThe Taxation Expert will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and managing tax/accountancy work for JAMESY7 LTD clients. The role requires strong tax knowledge, excellent attention to detail, professional communication skills and the ability to manage client files accurately and confidentially.
This is a direct internal employment role with JAMESY7 LTD. The successful candidate will be employed directly by JAMESY7 LTD and will not be supplied to any third party.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, self-employed clients, landlords, directors and CIS workers.
Prepare and review CIS repayment claims, tax calculations and supporting schedules.
Support VAT return preparation and review for small business clients.
Assist with Corporation Tax, company accounts and Companies House compliance work.
Review bookkeeping records, income records, expenses, bank statements and client documents.
Prepare HMRC correspondence and respond to client tax queries professionally.
Maintain accurate client files, evidence records and compliance notes.
Support Making Tax Digital preparation, quarterly updates and year-end finalisation processes.
Ensure work is completed accurately, on time and in line with HMRC requirements.
Work with directors and management to improve internal tax processes, quality control and client service standards.
Essential RequirementsStrong knowledge of UK tax, Self Assessment and HMRC compliance.
Experience preparing tax returns, CIS claims, VAT support or company tax work.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial documents.
Good understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and professional client handling.
Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise workload and work independently.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, cloud accounting software and digital record keeping.
Desirable RequirementsATT, CTA, ACCA, AAT or similar tax/accountancy qualification is desirable but not essential.
Experience with HMRC online services, Self Assessment, CIS, VAT, payroll or Corporation Tax software.
Experience working in a tax consultancy, accountancy practice or professional services business.
Knowledge of Making Tax Digital requirements.
