Job Description
Role: Strategy Senior Manager - Macro Foresight
Location: London
Career Level: Senior Manager
About Macro Foresight
Macro Foresight is part of Accenture's CEO Advisory business. We work with CEOs and boards on enterprise-wide strategy and reinvention, helping them perform, protect, and grow. Within that, we are the team that anticipates disruption and volatility: we help clients read the external environment—economic, geopolitical, and financial—and build long-term strategies for competitiveness and resilience. Our footprint is global, with hubs in North America, Europe, and Asia.
In the past two years we've helped leaders respond to the highest US tariffs in a century, energy and supply shocks around the Strait of Hormuz, two-speed economies, and the reordering of global trade around industrial policy and AI.
What we do
The work we deliver for client’s centers on a set of CEO- and board-level offerings:
- Economic and geopolitical impact assessments. AI-accelerated analysis of how macro and geopolitical shifts affect a business, a market, or a major investment.
- Scenario planning and wargaming. AI-enabled planning and table-top wargaming that test a strategy against a range of possible futures.
- Decision intelligence. Enterprise-wide decision support that reaches beyond macro and geopolitics into portfolio strategy, competition, consumer trends, and business performance.
- Strategic foresight and long-range planning. Structured futures assessments and long-range portfolio planning.
- Enterprise resilience assessments. CEO- and board-level diagnostics that measure and strengthen an organization's resilience to shocks.
- Foresight capability enablement. Helping clients build their own capability across people, process, and technology.
The people we hire
We hire for a few different profiles, and many people here bring more than one:
- Economists and geopolitical experts who read the real economy, financial and commodity markets, and the interplay of policy, trade, and security, and apply it to a client's business context.
- Strategists who translate complex analysis into recommendations a leadership team can act on.
- Entrepreneurial people who grow teams and develop those who join after them.
- AI engineers who code, build models, and put large language models and AI agents to work. We're actively hiring for this.
- People who work well with ambiguity, set their own direction, and want to help build new offerings like scenario planning, wargaming, and foresight.
Senior Manager (CL6), United Kingdom
We're looking for an experienced strategy leader to help drive our Macro Foresight client efforts in the UK and Ireland. Based in London, you'll own a portfolio of work, deepen senior client relationships, and build the team around you.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and grow the UK capability. Own a portfolio of engagements and build our presence in the market.
- Advise the C-suite and boards on how global shifts in trade and capital flows, industrial and security policy, and technology reshape their strategy and capital allocation.
- Pull in the wider firm. Bring the right Accenture teams into your engagements, from industry to AI and data science, so clients get integrated answers rather than point solutions.
- Win the work. Spot opportunities, build senior relationships, and turn them into engagements.
- Set the standard on AI-enabled ways of working. Guide how the team uses models, agents, and our AI Foresight platform, and lead the productization of our offerings into AI-enabled services.
- Develop the team. Coach and mentor, and set a high standard for analytical and technical craft.
- Shape our thought leadership and external profile through our macro briefs, points of view, board-level briefings, and presence at industry forums.
What we're looking for
- At least 8 years in strategy consulting, corporate finance, economic or geopolitical advisory, or investment, including 4+ years leading teams and complex engagements. Including:
- A track record of being a player-coach, who can provide leadership and mentorship, help build and grow teams, and lead from the front.
- Deep command of macroeconomics and geopolitics, and what they mean for large organizations.
- A track record of building senior client relationships and winning new work, with the credibility to engage with CEOs, C-suite clients, and board members.
- Fluency with AI-enabled ways of working, and the confidence to champion technical and AI-driven approaches.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
What will make you stand out
- Established C-suite / board relationships (e.g., FTSE 100, Fortune / NYSE 500).
- A respected voice in the market, with an active presence at conferences and in industry associations, building your name and Macro Foresight's brand.
- Experience with scenario planning, wargaming, or foresight offerings.
- A graduate degree in economics, finance, international relations, public policy, or management, or an MBA.
- An existing network in the UK market.
The practical details
- You'll need the right to work in the United Kingdom. We also welcome applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship, as we are able to
sponsor eligible work visas for suitable applicants. - This role is based in London.
- This role is a hybrid role and you will be required to go into office at least 3 days a week.
How we work, and how we'll back you
You'll work alongside experienced economists, geopolitical experts, and strategists on demanding client work anywhere in the world, with room to build new offerings and tools of your own. As part of Accenture, you'll draw on the firm's depth in AI, data science, and industry, and as the team grows, so will your remit.
