Staff Nurse - OMFS

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Maxillofacial (MaxFax) and Head & Neck Cancer Surgery team within the Institute of Neurological Sciences at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The Department provides pioneering Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and Head & Neck Cancer services as part of the regional service for the West of Scotland. The team is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurse to join the ward.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Permanent, Full-time
• Shift pattern - Monday - Sunday Days & Nights
• Base location - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing emergency and elective maxillofacial and head & neck cancer surgery.
• Deliver patient-centred care tailored to the specific needs of patients within the service.
• Support the delivery of regional OMFS and Head & Neck Cancer services across the West of Scotland.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
• Develop knowledge and skills relevant to the speciality through learning and training opportunities.
  
  

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Essential

• Registered Nurse with current UK NMC registration.
• Commitment to patient-centred care.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.
• Understanding of the service and the needs of patients, or willingness to learn and develop these skills.
  
  

Desirable

• Previous experience in OMFS and/or Head & Neck Surgery nursing.
  
  

Training and Development

• Support from a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator for Neurosciences & OMFS.
• Access to an in-house training competency framework.
• Opportunity to undertake university-accredited courses to support professional development.
