UK Strategic Sourcing Leader South (Location: Bracknell, UK)
OBJECTIVE:
Sourcing Leader is supposed to provide strategic sourcing support in a project business environment. The main goal of the role is to gain savings through negotiations of subcontracting spend during the execution phase of a project and increase Honeywell’s competitiveness by optimizing the subcontracting costs during the Pre-Bid phase. In this context, the candidate would work closely together with the project management, estimating and sales teams of the UK organization.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and implement subcontract strategies
- Define, develop and maintain a formal documented district sourcing strategy based on business needs, using market and competitive data
- Negotiate price, payment terms, and other delivery-and performance-related terms with selected supplier and subcontractors using applicable negotiation strategies to achieve Post Award Savings
- Build and maintain strong supplier/subcontractor relationships
- Drive the use of preferred subcontractors and incorporate / increase the use of negotiated catalogues
- Support development of cost estimate during proposal phase.
- Proactively engage with Sales and estimating team in their front-end planning during estimation to understand requirements and develop project sourcing plans
- Provide proposal support tied to the business area needs. This includes initiating Requests for Proposals (RFP), reviewing/analyzing responses and providing guidance to the program during the subcontractor selection process.
- Identify subcontractors to meet business requirements, ensure they are qualified in accordance with standard Honeywell HBS policies.
- Review subcontractor requested modifications to Honeywell standard Terms and Conditions, if necessary, enter into negotiations.
- Subcontractor Purchase Order conversion and performance monitoring.
- Prepare subcontractor contracts back-to-back with customer contracts in close cooperation with Solutions and Service team
- Re-negotiate supplier and subcontractor offers in Post Award phase to achieve additional savings
- Post-award actions involve achieving savings through re-bidding process, final negotiations and value engineering practices ensuring quality standards.
- Throughout the performance period, communicate regularly with stakeholders on subcontractor performance, and take action when necessary to remedy unsatisfactory performance (claim preparation / resolution) in accordance with terms and conditions.
- Supply Chain initiatives
- Increase effective utilization and adoption of procurement tool set including e-sourcing
- Track and drive continuous improvement in PO compliance and sourcing efficiency
- Support ensuring business purchase activity in accordance with standard Honeywell policies.
- Teamwork and Development:
- Cross collaboration with other sourcing team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and high performance.
- Conduct training sessions on sourcing best practices and market intelligence.
- Functional Leadership
- Represent Supply function within the local leadership teams, acting as business partner and assuring alignment of business and functional goals and strategies
- Managing and leading the supply function as focal point of contact for the district
- Providing leadership and co-ordination for all supply initiatives and supporting teams such as BSC, Category Management, Indirect, Division, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or University diploma – technical degree preferred. Masters degree preferred.
- 5-8 years business Experience preferred, including 3-5 years in a relevant sourcing related capacity (i.e. strategic sourcing).
- Proven experience in subcontractor negotiations, comprehensive understanding of commercial terms and conditions related to procurement of goods and services, and supply contracts
- Experience in other similar business areas or skills will also be considered
- Experience in project business related procurement, e. g. construction business, plant construction, etc.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle or similar procurement systems preferred.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written, ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences (cross cultural)
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven track record that includes working collaboratively with supply teams and Engineering/Technical individuals regarding management of statement of work requirements and subcontractor deliverables
- Self-motivated, able to perform role with minimal supervision, taking ownership and demonstrate sense of urgency
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work in a team environment to consistently achieve results
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and Honeywell subcontractors to meet or exceed business objectives.
- Experience in multicultural environment
- Preferred: Six Sigma and/or Lean green belt
- Fluent in English
