Senior Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Management
Requirements
The posting seeks a motivated Pharmacy Technician to work with clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in a ward-based team. It does not specify formal education, certification, or years-of-experience requirements.
Job Description
Working closely with our clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals the successful candidate will help provide a quality medicines management service to wards across the Trust, supporting medicines optimisation.
Main Duties Will Include
Medicines reconciliation
Assessing the suitability of patients’ own drugs for use,
Ordering named patient medication
Counselling patients about their medicines
Co-ordinating supply of discharge medicines
Supporting audit and quality improvement initiatives.
The post holder will be required to help support the training and staff development of a range of staff including pre-registration pharmacy technicians, pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists. There will be regular dispensary slots which will include final accuracy checking.
