About the Job you are considering:

As part of the Financial Services Business Unit within C&CA, the Senior Lead Developer will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a critical integration capability that connects key enterprise platforms with a modern front-office ecosystem. Architect Tomorrow., you will combine hands-on technical leadership with strategic delivery oversight, ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers, foster AI-enabled ways of working, and help build a future-ready workforce while delivering outcomes that meet the demanding standards of a regulated financial services environment.


Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of integration services, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to engineering teams, driving quality, consistency, and delivery excellence.
  • Oversee the integration of AI-assisted engineering outputs into broader solution architectures, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and business requirements.
  • Champion robust non-functional requirements, including security, auditability, reliability, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to translate complex requirements into effective solutions.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, promoting continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and the development of a future-ready workforce.
  • Establish and maintain high standards through peer reviews, engineering governance, and best-practice delivery approaches.
  • Drive observability, supportability, and operational excellence to ensure services can be effectively monitored and managed.
  • Coordinate the delivery of integration services, interfaces, and processing capabilities across multiple business-critical systems.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and responsible adoption of AI-enabled practices.


Must-Have Skills

  • Extensive hands-on experience in backend software engineering and enterprise application development.
  • Proven experience designing, delivering, deploying, and supporting scalable microservices-based solutions within containerised environments, including OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience leading development teams or pods, mentoring engineers, and driving technical excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous code reviews and maintain high engineering quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of secure, high-throughput data integration, messaging architectures, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience building and operating highly observable, supportable, and auditable enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Practical experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, auditing, and observability approaches.
  • Strong understanding of non-functional requirements, including security, resilience, scalability, performance, and compliance.
  • Experience working within complex, regulated environments, ideally within financial services.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, particularly structured products and derivatives.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as Avaloq, Salesforce, LexiFi, BlackRock Aladdin, or Charles River.
  • Awareness of AI-enabled software engineering practices and the ability to apply them responsibly to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Relevant expertise in modern application delivery, containerisation, integration, and cloud-based engineering practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
