Help us create a better future, quicker

We're looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our HVDC team within SP Energy Networks Transmission. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting some of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure investments, helping to deliver the network required for a Net Zero future.

Working across both the Eastern Green Link joint ventures and ScottishPower Transmission, you'll provide critical financial insight, reporting and analysis on projects worth approximately £6bn. The role offers broad exposure to senior stakeholders across ScottishPower, National Grid and external partners, giving you the opportunity to influence decision-making on nationally important projects that will help connect renewable energy and strengthen the UK's electricity network.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead the development and continuous improvement of project financial reporting, providing detailed analysis and insight to support effective decision-making and ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of project performance. You'll support budgeting, forecasting and month-end activities, including value of work done reporting, accruals, prepayments and cash flow forecasting, helping to maintain accurate financial control across major infrastructure programmes.

You'll work closely with project teams, commercial colleagues, budget holders and joint venture partners to review forecast expenditure, challenge assumptions and ensure reporting accuracy. You'll also support management and statutory accounting requirements, prepare financial information for project and company boards, contribute to regulatory submissions and work alongside teams such as Treasury, Tax and Procurement to ensure compliance with financial policies, governance requirements and funding arrangements.

What you'll bring

You'll be a qualified accountant, or possess significant equivalent experience, ideally gained within a large-scale project, infrastructure or project delivery environment.

In addition, you'll bring:

  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of technical and non-technical teams.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with SAP and other financial systems.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to challenging reporting deadlines while operating in a dynamic project environment.

What's in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

At ScottishPower, we believe it's the little things we do in life that make a big difference.
