FNZ is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Lead to join our People & Culture team on a permanent basis.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced employee relations professional who combines deep technical employment law knowledge with practical, commercial judgement. As new UK employment rights are introduced, you'll lead FNZ's response to regulatory change, act as the go-to expert on employment law for the People team, and support the team by taking on our most complex employee relations cases.

You'll work closely with Legal, People Operations, Payroll, HR Systems and senior business leaders to keep FNZ compliant, confident and ready for what's next, while protecting the organisation from legal, regulatory and reputational risk.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, hands-on role. You'll own legislative change, shape policy and frameworks, and be a trusted advisor on technical employment law matters. You'll also roll up your sleeves on complex casework, giving you real breadth and influence across FNZ's UK People landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Employment Law & Regulatory Change

  • Lead FNZ's response to UK employment law reforms, from impact assessment through to implementation
  • Translate complex legislative requirements into practical, sustainable policies, processes and guidance
  • Partner with Legal and senior stakeholders to assess legislative developments and their implications
  • Review and redesign employment policies and employee relations frameworks
  • Support communication, manager guidance and capability building to embed change

Technical Employment Law Advice

  • Act as the subject matter expert on employment law for the People team
  • Provide clear, pragmatic advice on complex and emerging employee relations risks
  • Coach and upskill People Partners and the wider People team on technical ER matters
  • Advise on workforce change, including consultation, redundancy and dismissal requirements

Complex Case Management

  • Lead and support the handling of complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance, investigations and tribunal-related matters
  • Provide expert guidance and oversight to the ER team, ensuring consistent and compliant outcomes
  • Identify trends and root causes, recommending improvements to reduce risk

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance controls
  • Provide insight and updates to senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Drive continuous improvement across ER processes, tools and ways of working

What We're Looking For

  • Significant employee relations experience within a complex organisation
  • Extensive knowledge of UK employment law, with experience implementing legislative change
  • Proven experience advising on and managing complex, high-risk ER cases
  • Strong ability to translate legal requirements into practical policies and frameworks
  • Experience partnering with Legal, Payroll, HR Systems and wider People teams
  • Confidence influencing and advising senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly
  • Experience in a regulated or governance-focused environment (desirable)

What You'll Need to Succeed at FNZ

  • Sound judgement when balancing legal, employee and commercial considerations
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams at once
  • Credibility with, and the ability to influence, stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, collaborative and outcomes-focused approach
  • Comfort leading through change and ambiguity
