Requirements

Requires deep expertise in tax administration or public finance combined with experience in business development or consulting. Candidates must have a strong understanding of Data & AI technologies and the ability to navigate complex political landscapes and data sovereignty requirements.

Job Description

Description

Tax funds public services. When tax systems work, governments invest in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. When they fail, compliance becomes a burden, and citizens lose trust in the institutions meant to serve them.

Across EMEA, tax and revenue authorities face growing pressure to close tax gaps and deliver services that citizens trust. Most are held back by aging infrastructure, siloed data, and citizen experiences that feel punitive rather than fair. The authorities that modernize collect more, and rebuild the relationship between government and the people it serves.

In this role, you will lead how AWS engages tax and revenue authorities across EMEA. You will shape the regional strategy, build relationships with senior government leaders, and bring the right technology and partners together to help these organisations modernize.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in tax administration, public finance or public finance, combined with the commercial ability to turn that knowledge into outcomes. You will engage at executive level across revenue authorities, finance ministries, and consulting partners. You will understand how data, analytics, and AI/ML can transform fiscal operations and will navigate the data sovereignty landscape unique to government finance, including sovereign cloud positioning. You will define go-to-market strategies and develop repeatable approaches that enable AWS teams across the region to engage effectively.

Key job responsibilities

  • Shape and execute the EMEA strategy for AWS engagement with tax authorities, finance ministries, and central banks — creating pipeline and driving modernisation outcomes across multiple countries.
  • Build executive relationships with tax authority leaders, finance ministry decision-makers, central bank executives, and partner organisations.
  • Translate data, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities into propositions that resonate with government leaders focused on revenue collection, citizen experience.
  • Navigate data sovereignty requirements unique to tax, positioning sovereign cloud solutions where required.
  • Develop repeatable playbooks enabling regional field teams to engage government finance, tax, and central banking customers effectively.
  • Work with consulting and technology partners to build co-selling frameworks and integrated offerings.
  • Establish AWS as a recognised thought leader in government finance and tax modernisation through publications, keynotes, advisory panels, and industry engagement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
  • Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage
  • Deep expertise in tax administration, public finance or public finance.
  • Ability to define strategy in ambiguous, undefined markets and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience navigating complex political and organisational landscapes across multiple cultures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in business development including complex agreements with integrators and ISVs
  • Understanding of cloud computing, AI, and data analytics in a public sector context, including data sovereignty considerations.
  • Languages relevant to priority markets (French, Spanish, Dutch) would be an asset.
