Position Summary
The Senior Advisor, Conflicts & New Business provides professional support and guidance within the Conflicts & New Business team on a wide range of matters, including client intake queries and conflict resolution. The incumbent will collaborate with various teams within the Firm to provide timely resolutions to Conflicts & New Business topics, such as conflict checks or client assessments, whilst ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with relevant regulations. Provide assistance to Partners, fee earners and PAs in relation to conflicts of interest identified during new business intake. Exercise sound commercial judgement and communicate effectively. Provide support to the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) in relation to compliance with the conflicts rules requiring defensive analytical research and analysis. Key aspects of the role will be researching materials; assisting with of PAs as required; and providing other support as needed.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Contributes to the professional direction for a Conflicts & New Business discipline
- Utilises comprehensive knowledge of Conflicts & New Business to address complex client onboarding issues and challenges without clear precedent, offering clear solutions and risk management strategies in line with the Firm's risk policies
- Provides in-depth specialist advice to the business on Conflicts & New Business topics and policies, such as conflict checks, client acceptance, or risk assessment procedures
- May lead as a project manager, providing technical knowledge and specialised expertise in a Conflicts & New Business discipline to help enact change and implement related initiatives
- Serves as an escalated point of contact within the team, handling complex Conflicts & New Business queries and cases, and providing innovative insights and recommendations to resolve issues fairly and efficiently
- Leads collaboration with teams across the business to successfully implement Conflicts & New Business programs and initiatives, setting the standard of operational excellence within the team
- Supervisors at this level will lead a team of junior professionals and/or coordinators, delegating and facilitating the work of others within established procedures and practices
- Individual contributors at this level will coordinate and review work within the team, providing guidance to less experienced members
- Providing professional support to the development of innovative solutions to complex problems and operational challenges
- Specialist - level knowledge in own discipline and good knowledge of other related disciplines
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently conduct detailed analysis, investigate issues and identify solutions, seeking guidance only on atypical or complex issues
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with team members and occasionally external stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience and relevant professional certification/qualification where appropriate to the discipline
- University degree preferred in Law, Business, Finance or Marketing preferred but not essential.
- Two-three years’ relevant work experience required.
- Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity, creative thinker.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
- Exhibit mature judgement and appropriate handling of confidential information.

- This role is based in London.
- Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a requirement for 4 days (Monday – Thursday) in the office per week.
