Job Description

Azelis is seeking a talented and commercially focused Sales Manager to join our Pharma & Healthcare team in the UK.


This home-based, full-time permanent role will focus on building strong customer relationships, develop new business opportunities, grow sales and margins, and represent Azelis with professionalism and market insight.

Job Purpose

  • To generate increased sales and margins through further growth and development of the ingredient’s portfolio.

  • To manage, develop and understand the needs of the customer base, making regular contacts with these accounts to build, maintain and manage relationships with key contacts at both a technical and commercial level.

  • Developing project pipeline opportunities and management and follow up of these with the customers, review regularly with the Market Manager and present at quarterly business team meetings.

  • Where appropriate, set up and monitor on-farm trials, and establish possible support in this from our principals.

  • Presentation of technical and trial information on relevant products to customers’ technical teams and nutritionists.

  • To set and agree annual sales budgets in line with business development strategy.

The role

  • To manage, develop and understand the needs of a growing customer base, making regular visits to these accounts and building, maintaining, and managing relationships with key contacts at all levels.  

  • Negotiate prices and volumes with customers to maximize returns to the business.

  • Seek out, analyse and develop new accounts, promoting sales of the product portfolio in line with business growth strategies.  

  • Agree on and achieve annual sales budgets with the Business Manager  

  • Work with the Business Manager and Product Manager to develop our portfolio of specialized raw materials.

  • Gather, analyse, interpret, and present market, product, competitor and industry data to enable development of the forward strategy of the business.

  • To visit and represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences, networking with representatives from a broad range of companies.  

  • Pro-actively monitor and review payment terms against customer portfolio, ensuring that payment terms and methods are adhered to, keeping business risk to a minimum. Ensure that payment terms and cash flow implications are considered at time of negotiation for all new and existing business.

  • Full use of our CRM business tool   

  • The role will likely involve managing some OTC Pharma customers.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field  

  • 3 plus years of experience in a commercial role in the relevant industry  

  • A working knowledge of Nutraceutical regulations  

  • Excellent communication skills   

  • Proven analytical skills.   

  • Fluent in English   

  • Negotiation skills
