Menlo Park International GPs
Salaried GP
Requirements
Must be a GMC-registered General Practitioner on the UK performers list with CCT or CEGPR equivalent. Requires current GP experience and proficiency in chronic disease management and QOF delivery.
Job Description
Background
A newly created six-session Salaried GP post has opened at a well-established Ipswich practice, funded as genuine additional capacity rather than a replacement for anyone who has left. With a daily contact cap of 30 that is respected in practice, not just stated on paper, this is a rare chance to join a growing team on workable terms.
Location
The practice is based in Ipswich, Suffolk, a well-connected town with strong road and rail links across East Anglia. Colchester is around 35 minutes by car, Bury St Edmunds around 40 minutes, and Felixstowe around 20 minutes, making the role accessible to candidates commuting from a wide catchment area.
The Practice
- Large practice, operating across two sites
- Led by a sole GP Partner known for listening to the team and acting on feedback
- Large salaried GP team, supported by a broad multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, pharmacists and paramedics
- Part of a wider network of practices offering shared clinical collaboration
- CQC rated Good
- Six sessions per week: Monday and Tuesday on-site, plus two enhanced access sessions that can be delivered flexibly, including remotely
- Daily contact cap of 30 patients, with urgent requests substituted in rather than added on top
- Pooled patient lists, central triage support and a very low home-visiting burden
- Genuine partnership pathway for the right candidate after around 12 months in post
- Tier 2 or Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship considered
- You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise, entry on the Medical Performers List, CCT in General Practice or CEGPR equivalent, and MRCGP or equivalent
- Current general practice experience, with confidence in chronic disease management, clinical governance and QOF delivery
- Sessional rate of £11,385 to £12,110 per session for on-site sessions
- Enhanced access sessions paid at £13,585 to £15,137 per session depending on setting
- NHS Pension Scheme, with a 23.7% employer contribution
- Professional fees and indemnity covered
- BMA model contract
- Pro-rata CPD allowance based on the BMA’s CPD model
- 6 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays
