Menlo Park International GPs
Salaried GP, Huntingdon
Requirements
Applicants must be qualified General Practitioners and registered with both the GMC and the UK performers list. Newly qualified GPs are welcome if they have triage and duty doctor experience; interests in women's health or mental health are particularly welcome.
Job Description
Background
This is general practice done together. Rather than working alone behind a closed door, the GPs share a common workspace whenever they are not consulting, so advice, a second opinion or a helping hand is always moments away. If you enjoy clinically varied medicine and want a team that will back you and develop you, this is a rare opportunity.
Location
The practice is based in a market town in central Cambridgeshire with excellent A1 and A14 road links. Cambridge and Peterborough are each around 30 minutes away by car, with Bedford around 40 minutes.
The Practice
- GP Training Practice hosting GP registrars, F2 doctors and medical students
- Rated Outstanding by CQC
- Distinctive shared working model: GPs work alongside each other in a shared office when not consulting, giving instant peer support
- Mid-sized practice with a strong partnership team and a large salaried GP team
- Research practice, welcoming GPs with an interest in research
- Excellent staff retention and a sociable culture, with an events team organising activities through the year
- Young, diverse patient population with high mental health and safeguarding need, ideal for a GP who enjoys being stretched clinically
- 6 sessions per week across three full days: Tuesday and Thursday essential, with Wednesday or Friday as the third day
- A varied week, typically one duty day, one triage day and one patient-facing day
- 15-minute appointments as standard, with double slots for complex patients and interpreter appointments
- Protected results and admin time every day, plus a 10:30 team coffee break, designed so you leave with no admin outstanding
- Duty typically once a week, with very few home visits
- Working days run 08:00 to 18:00, with duty days running 08:45 to 18:45
- Support to develop as a GP Trainer and build special interests, with women’s health and mental health particularly welcome
- Newly qualified GPs with triage and duty doctor experience welcome to apply
- £11,000–£12,000 per session
- Optional extended access sessions, paid at an additional hourly rate
- NHS Pension
- Professional fees covered
- 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
- Tier 2 visa sponsorship available
