Job Description

Role: Risk Manager - Civil Works Programme - Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station project

Location: Central London (EC2R 7BP) (3 days/week in the office with the rest worked from home; occasional travel to other sites will be required)

Salary: c£90000 + benefits including 5% bonus, 28 days holiday (30 days after 5 years), 15% client pension contribution + flexible benefits package

Start: October 2026 onwards


Morson Edge are looking for a skilled Risk Manager with proven major project / corporate experience to undertake a key role supporting their client's multi-billion pound Sizewll C nuclear power station construction project.

Working within the Project Management Office (PMO), the Risk Manager will support / be deployed within one of SZC's delivery programmes, supporting the operation of all PMO risk processes across SZC,

The role will be based at the client's Central London office (IEC2R 7BP) at least 2 days/week with the rest worked from home.


Candidates will be required to obtain nuclear site security clearance for this role.

SZC Project Controls will serve as a centre of excellence, managing and strategically using delivery performance management information. Our team will enable successful delivery of SZC Project through proactive Project Controls that drives forward-looking solutions to continuously improve performance.


The Risk Manager will support the operation of all PMO risk processes across SZC, reporting to a Senior Risk Manager. This will entail supporting the ownership, deployment, and continuous improvement of all the PMO risk process elements of one of SZC's delivery programmes whilst helping to ensure we operate and deliver controls within the SZC governance structure, organisation and delivery model. They will help ensure PMO risk activities being carried out in an efficient manner in accordance with calendars and deadlines established on SZC.



Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions


As Risk Manager you will:



  • Support the Senior Risk Manager in operating Integrated Project Controls (Risk) processes.
  • Support with tasks directed by the Senior Risk Manager, and the ability to deputise at key delivery programme meetings.
  • Support the Senior Risk Manager with the planning & co-ordination of risk activities such as EAC update, ERR preparation, Integrated-QRA development etc.
  • Support the Senior Risk Manager with progress reporting including monthly risk dashboard updates, forecast to complete, variance identification, delivery process insights and opportunities for improvement.


Knowledge & Skills



  • Proven facilitation skills able to independently facilitate workshops within programme.
  • Good technical skills able to independently deliver QRAs, spanning Cost QRAs and Schedule QRAs
  • Linked capability to integrate/ support breadth of project controls/ project delivery/ business support processes (e.g. Finance)
  • Good engagement skills able to independently engage teams of: Range of project and corporate professionals



Qualifications & Experience



  • Project management and broader project controls experience desirable
  • Good technical skills able to deliver QRAs with support, spanning Cost QRAs and Schedule QRAs
  • Linked capability to integrate/ support breadth of project controls/ project delivery/ business support processes (e.g. Finance)
  • Possible risk management/ other technical/ capital-intensive sector-specific management qualifications
  • Good client/ contactor/ consultancy/ government experience
  • Good major project/ corporate experience

Individuals resident in the UK on a VISA will be happily considered, and sponsorship can be offered for the right candidate

For the right candidate, our client can offer a salary of up to c£90000 (possibly a little higher for an outstandig cadidate) along with an outstanding benefits package including 5% bonus, 15% client pension contribution, 28 days holiday (rising to 30 after 5 years) and a strong flexible benefits package.
