Requirements
The posting seeks a background in topological phases of matter or numerical simulations of quantum many-body systems. Relevant methods include exact diagonalisation, matrix product states, neural quantum states, and quantum simulations.
Job Description
Do you have a background in topological phases of matter or numerical simulations of quantum many-body systems? Would you like to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?
The project will involve the development of new theoretical and computational approaches to study topological quantum matter, in the context of condensed matter physics and ultracold atomic systems. The focus areas of the project include topological and geometric properties of fractional quantum Hall states and fractional Chern insulators, including their classical and quantum simulations (in particular, exact diagonalisation, matrix product state and neural quantum state methods, as well as quantum simulations). Some of our recent papers relevant to the position include:
https://arxiv.org/abs/2011.01955 ;
