About The Role

This postdoc role is funded by Northern PowerGrid (NPG) partnership project - "Cyber Security - Hybrid Virtualisation (HV)". You should be a skilled communicator with experience in cyber security, AI and computer science. You'll be supporting in developing a cyber range testbed based on your experience and applications of the cyber range in cyber defence for NPG’s Operational Technology (OT) network supporting energy distribution network in the UK.

The core of the project is to develop a secure cyber-physical testbed and simulation environment for the energy sector. It will provide a realistic, isolated platform for testing cyber threats against simulated IT and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) without risking operational networks. The project focuses on improving cyber resilience through enhanced risk modelling, monitoring, incident response, workforce training, and repeatable testing.

We are committed to building a diverse and collaborative team. To support this, we actively encourage secondments and flexible arrangements - our priority is finding the right person for the role.
