Job Description

About Kroo

We’re building a better bank. One that puts customers first, treats money responsibly and uses technology to make everyday banking simpler, fairer and more transparent. We’re a fully regulated UK bank, backed by long term investors, with a growing customer base. We hold ourselves to high standards in how we build products, manage risk and support our people.

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Regulatory Reporting Manager to take ownership of our regulatory reporting, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete and delivered on time. You’ll bring strong knowledge of banking capital and liquidity requirements, together with the practical experience to turn those requirements into clear reporting processes and effective controls. Working closely with Finance and Treasury, you’ll ensure our reporting reflects balance sheet activity and supports effective capital and liquidity management. You’ll also help improve our systems, data and processes as the bank grows, with opportunities to contribute to wider capital and liquidity work.

What you’ll do

  1. Manage the production, review and submission of regulatory returns, coordinating inputs, deadlines and approvals.
  2. Interpret prudential capital and liquidity requirements and apply them to reporting methodologies, processes and controls.
  3. Work closely with Treasury to ensure reporting uses consistent data and assumptions and reflects balance sheet activity.
  4. Reconcile regulatory returns to the general ledger and source systems, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues.
  5. Maintain clear documentation, review procedures and audit trails, escalating risks when needed.
  6. Assess regulatory changes and implement the reporting and process updates required.
  7. Prepare clear commentary for governance forums and respond to queries from auditors, regulators and internal stakeholders.
  8. Improve reporting systems and data flows, reduce manual reporting risk and support wider Finance and Treasury priorities.

What you’ll bring

You’ll have banking experience and practical experience of delivering regulatory reporting, with a strong understanding of prudential capital and liquidity requirements. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of deadlines, challenge data and explain complex requirements clearly. You’ll be comfortable working through detailed reconciliations, exercising sound judgement and collaborating across Finance and Treasury. Experience of improving reporting processes in a growing bank would be particularly useful. Previous challenger bank experience is desirable.

You’ll also have:

  1. A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related subject, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, which is strongly preferred. We will also consider candidates working towards one of these qualifications who have relevant banking regulatory reporting experience.
  3. Evidence of continued professional development relevant to banking, prudential regulation or regulatory reporting.

What we offer

  1. Annual leave: 25 days’ annual leave, eight bank holidays, an additional Kroo holiday on 24 June and a day off during your birthday week.
  2. Personal days: Three personal days to use when needed.
  3. Healthcare: Private healthcare through Vitality for you and your immediate family.
  4. Mental health support: Access to Spill, our mental health support partner.
  5. Pension: A workplace pension with a 5% employee contribution and a 3% employer contribution.
  6. Equipment: A MacBook and the equipment you need for hybrid working, with a contribution towards your home office setup if required.
  7. Volunteering: Up to four hours of employer supported volunteering each month.
  8. Travel schemes: Access to Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes.
  9. Family support: Enhanced parental leave.
  10. Development: Opportunities to broaden your experience and progress as the bank grows.

Hybrid Working:

At Kroo Bank, we have a hybrid policy that gives both individuals and teams a lot of freedom when it comes to using the office space to boost productivity. Our London office is a great resource when used effectively. So, employees who can occasionally come to the office are a good fit for how we work right now. Keep in mind that this job involves working from Monday to Friday, with a mix of remote and office work, so you won't need to be on-site all the time.

We wholeheartedly uphold our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Every employee is highly regarded, respected, and supported without any form of judgement or prejudice. We consider Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion as fundamental pillars guiding our path in all aspects of our bank. We also ensure that reasonable adjustments are made available to all candidates throughout the recruitment process.
