Requires management experience in trauma-informed children's residential care and a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management of Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it). Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to anti-racism and the ability to build resilient teams.
Job Description
Role: Registered Manager (13685)
Salary: £55,000.00 per annum (we are willing to exceed this salary for an exceptional candidate) plus £700.00 on call allowance – 1 in 3 weeks.
Location: London Borough of Hackney
Contract/Hours: Full time – 37 hours a week

A bit about the role
We are looking for a Registered Manager to lead a new 2-bedroom home in London Fields, Hackney. This is a unique opportunity to build your own team from the ground-up, shape the culture of the home from day one and create a home where children feel safe valued and truly belong.

Action for Children are working in close partnership with London Borough of Hackney to develop and run a new therapeutic children’s home within the borough.
This exciting new development that will offer a stable, safe and loving home which enables children and young people to stay in Hackney, helping them to grow up supported and happy, with the chance to maintain and build on the relationships that matter to them the most.
Together, we will ensure that children receive the highest standards of support, tailored to their unique needs, in a welcoming, safe, high-quality home.
What you do could make a difference
This is much more than a Registered Manager role – you will lead on the development process and the launch of our children’s new home. You'll build the team and put everything in place to lay a sound foundation and secure OFSTED registration, with the support and guidance from the leadership team.
Through innovative care and support, we will provide a safe, nurturing environment for trauma informed children, in the London Borough of Hackney.

- We’re looking for someone who will support Hackney’s Children and Families Service and Action for Children’s commitment to eradicating systemic racism, discrimination, injustice, making anti-racism a foundation of their practice.
- You will bring management experience in trauma informed children's residential care, alongside a Level 5 qualification (e.g. Diploma in Leadership and management of Residential Childcare) or be willing to work towards.
- You will understand the cultural, societal and ideological forces that shape a child’s development.
- You will have proven ability in providing a contained and fulfilling environment for staff, promoting psychological safety to build and sustain a resilient team.
