Job Description

Help Make Cricket a Game for Everyone

We're looking for an experienced and passionate individual to lead and support Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and discrimination case management across five counties in the South West.

You'll work with clubs, leagues, County Boards, safeguarding teams and the Cricket Regulator to provide guidance, education and support on discrimination matters, helping to create welcoming and inclusive environments throughout the recreational game.

Main Terms

Position: Regional EDI & Discrimination Executive

Department: Central

Reporting to: Maralyn Smith

Salary: £18,025

Contract: 2-year fixed contract from 1st November

Hours per week: 2.5 days per week covering five counties in SW region

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide proactive and reactive support to five counties in the SW region on Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) education and wider work and in addressing complaints of discrimination, acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for CPA purposes with County Boards/Foundation, clubs, leagues, Association of Cricket Officials (ACOs) and other cricket organisations within the region, liaising with lead officers, Cricket Regulator and all parties as needed.

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of Equality Act 2010, Discrimination Matters, ECB and Cricket Regulator.

You will have experience of case management ideally in relation to EDI and be able to work effectively with Cricket Clubs, Leagues alongside the Southwest County Boards/Foundations (Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset, and Wiltshire).

You will need to be an excellent communicator and negotiator who can support, advice and where necessary enforce the ECB Anti-Discrimination Regulations. You will need to be able to provide consistent guidance, advice and training on discrimination matters, specifically in coordinating a regional approach to the ECB EDI Education Programme.

Across the year the work fluctuates and as such an annualised 962 hours (equal to 18.5 hours per week) has been identified with a requirement that during the cricket season county boards/foundations are likely to require more support than during the offseason when more proactive work is normally planned.
