Requirements

Candidates should have strong corporate lending experience from a leading law firm, financial institution, or established in-house legal team, ideally in an international banking environment. They should bring excellent drafting, negotiation, transaction management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills, along with practical knowledge of bank lending legal and regulatory issues and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Job Description

Re:link is working with a leading international bank that is seeking an experienced corporate lending lawyer to support its London-based legal team on a six to 12-month contract.

This is a broad in-house role with a strong transactional focus. You will advise on a wide range of corporate lending and general banking matters, working closely with front office, credit, risk, compliance and operations teams across an international platform. The role is expected to include both transaction execution and wider legal support on documentation, structuring and risk.

The role will involve:

  • drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate lending documentation across a range of bilateral and syndicated facilities
  • advising on general banking, loan and security documentation
  • supporting transaction structuring, due diligence and execution on cross-border financing matters
  • advising business stakeholders on legal, regulatory, reputational and documentation risk
  • liaising with internal stakeholders across legal, credit, risk, compliance, operations and front office teams
  • coordinating with external counsel where required
  • supporting documentation projects, template updates and broader legal process improvements
  • assisting with related finance documentation, including confidentiality agreements, term sheets, engagement letters, and reliance or release letters

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • strong corporate lending experience gained at a leading law firm, financial institution or established in-house legal team
  • experience advising on a broad range of loan products and structures, ideally in an international banking environment
  • strong drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills
  • experience handling matters across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
  • a practical understanding of legal and regulatory issues relevant to bank lending activity
  • the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • strong communication skills and a commercial, solutions-focused approach

This role would suit a lawyer who is comfortable working closely with the business, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives, and delivering clear, pragmatic advice on live transactions.
