About us: 

The Propulsion Test & Launch Services department performs testing and launch support of spacecraft propulsion systems and components. This includes the preparation of ground support equipment and spacecraft testing documentation as well as supporting spacecraft testing and the recording of data to report back to our customers. We have many exciting projects from Telecommunications to earth observation satellites.

The work is varied and involves projects that often require the team to travel internationally.

What you will be doing:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

  • Preparation of test and launch documentation within the requirements of the Propulsion system including technical and safety;

  • Working as part of a small, specialist team within a multi-disciplined project team;

  • Manufacture, maintain and operate equipment specific to the requirements of the propulsion system;

  • Perform test and launch services activities to strict quality and technical requirements;

  • Occasional periods of off-site work required;

  • Liaison with company representatives and subcontractors for test requirements, ground support equipment (GSE) servicing and shipping.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering based subjects;

  • Familiarity with mechanical and pneumatic systems, gases and some basic electrical engineering principles;

  • Understanding of mechanical or aerospace engineering setting is beneficial;

  • A good team player;

  • A dynamic, enthusiastic and committed individual with demonstrated experience of working under pressure to tight schedule requirements is desirable.

This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
