Job Description
The Large Project Office (LPO) require an experienced Engineering Project Manager to support the tendering & execution of complex, high-value substation projects (offshore & onshore) exceeding $100m. These projects involve collaboration across multiple business units and countries, requiring strong technical leadership, structured coordination, and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
You will play a central role in defining technical scope, preparing engineering deliverables, leading design teams, and ensuring robust, safe, and optimized solutions that support successful bids and project execution.
Location: UK or Ireland, (remote-based).
Travel: European travel required, typically up to 20%, depending on project and business needs.
How You'll Make An Impact
Technical Leadership & Support:
- Lead technical support for tendering and execution phases of customer projects.
- Develop HV/MV/LV power supply system architecture and perform associated sizing calculations.
- Serve as technical lead for engineering design across multi-country units and business teams.
- Participates in project review meetings and technical assessments.
- Ensure all technical documents, drawings, and deliverables meet quality, clarity, accuracy and compliance to standards / specifications.
- Lead all engineering activities for the assigned tender or project.
- Prepare work plans, scope descriptions, division of works, battery limits, interface matrices, and cost estimates for engineering packages.
- Coordinate effectively with internal and external partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Work closely with sales, tender management, project management, site installation and commissioning teams.
- Lead customer discussions on technical and techno-commercial topics.
- Support customer approvals / acceptance phases and ensure clear communication and alignment across teams.
- Prepare technical specifications, review supplier offers, and coordinate with Supply Chain Management for procurement of materials, equipment and services.
- Identify, assess & manage potential technical risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct Safety Observation tours and support HSE compliance.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in power systems engineering, in HV & MV utility or industrial Voltage substations, with offshore experience.
- Demonstrated experience acting as Technical Lead on large-scale tenders or projects.
- Strong Knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, BIM methodologies.
- Effective collaborator in multicultural and cross-functional environments.
- Proactive, result-oriented, capable of performing under pressure.
- Individual with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, reliability and ability
- Strong communicator with the ability to work across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
