Requirements

Applicants must hold a Registered Nurse or Registered Sick Children's Nurse qualification, have a first-level degree, and be working toward or willing to undertake Master's-level study. They need significant paediatric nursing experience at Band 6 or above, strong knowledge of NMC standards and clinical governance, and proven skills in change leadership, communication, mentoring, and influencing others.

Job Description

Are you an experienced children's nurse with a passion for developing others and improving the quality of care delivered to children and families? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an enthusiastic Practice Development Nurse to support the ongoing development of nursing practice within Community Paediatric Services. This influential role offers the opportunity to lead on evidence-based practice, workforce development, clinical governance and service improvement while working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues across the organisation. You will play a key role in shaping the future nursing workforce, supporting innovation and ensuring high standards of care are consistently achieved. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Part-time, fixed-term for 12 months
  • You will be based at Templeton Business Centre
  • Working Pattern: Monday - Friday (TBA)
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead andsupport the implementation of evidence-based nursing practice across Community Paediatric Services
  • Develop and enhance nursing skills, competencies and professional practice across all nursing grades
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Support clinical governance activity including audit, quality improvement and monitoring of standards
  • Work collaboratively with service managers, clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning through education, training and workforce development initiatives
  • Lead, support and disseminate research activity to strengthen and advance nursing practice

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Registered Nurse or Registered Sick Children's Nurse qualification
  • First level degree with evidence of working towards or willingness to undertake Master's level study
  • Significant experience in Paediatric Nursing at Band 6 level or above
  • Extensive knowledge of NMC standards, policies and professional requirements
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, audit and quality improvement principles
  • Experience of leading change, service development and the implementation of new ways of working
  • Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring and presentation skills with the ability to influence and develop others throughout the organisation
