We’re currently seeking a highly experienced PPC Lead to help shape and drive our Paid Media strategy, supporting both client success and internal team development.
Salary: £45k basic, £51k OTE
As a PPC Lead, you will take ownership of high-value PPC accounts, providing strategic direction, performance analysis, and proactive account management. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members, contributing to campaign innovation, and driving continuous improvement across the team.
This role requires expert knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, particularly in Shopping, Search, and Performance Max campaigns, as well as the ability to build strong client relationships and manage cross-platform projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise paid search campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, including complex, cross-platform account structures.
- Build, manage, and optimise paid social campaigns to ensure performance goals are met.
- Run Shopping campaigns profitably, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Regularly analyse campaign performance data, perform ongoing competitor analysis, and conduct full account audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement new initiatives, campaign strategies, and A/B tests— including messaging and customer journeys—in collaboration with UX and creative teams.
- Ensure campaign tracking and data integrity by working closely with technical and analytics teams.
- Proactively explore new automation methods, scripts, platform features, and technologies to drive campaign efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports and performance insights using tools such as Looker Studio; provide strategic recommendations based on analysis.
- Attend and lead client meetings, both virtual and in-person (where relevant), to communicate performance updates, strategic plans, and growth opportunities.
- Maintain strong, professional client relationships through consistent communication (written, video, and in-person), ensuring needs are understood and met.
- Collaborate with internal teams—such as SEO, UX, creative, and account management—to ensure paid media strategies align with broader marketing goals.
- Take ownership of client issues internally and ensure timely resolution in conjunction with the key account team.
- Support junior specialists by providing training, mentorship, and participating in their client calls and optimisation sessions.
- Supervise and support junior specialists with trouble accounts, including some direct client interaction when necessary.
- Be accountable for campaign growth and performance across your assigned clients and your assigned junior/senior specialist’s clients.
- Ensure all work meets deadlines and adheres to quality standards.
- Build strong working relationships across the business and demonstrate excellent communication skills with colleagues, clients, and external suppliers.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience managing large-scale PPC campaigns, ideally £10k+ monthly budgets.
- Expert-level understanding of Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Display, PMax) and Microsoft Ads.
- Strong experience in performance analysis, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Confident in client-facing situations and capable of explaining complex data clearly.
- Proficient in campaign structure optimisation and bid management.
- Hands-on experience with Looker Studio and Excel-based reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Google Ads Certifications in Search, Shopping, and Measurement (preferred).
- Desirable (Not Required)
- Experience managing or working alongside Paid Social campaigns.
- Familiarity with feed automation tools, or PPC scripts.
- Previous agency experience handling multiple clients.
