Job Description
London | Walthamstow, Kilburn and Bromley (Hayes) clinics | Permanent, full-time | £35,000–£43,000 per year - Sponsorship Available
Ready to build on your paediatric experience and take on greater clinical responsibility? Recruit by Nature is supporting a growing specialist paediatric therapy service in London, working with children with speech, language, communication, sensory and developmental needs.
This opportunity may suit an experienced Band 5 clinician looking for a supported step towards Band 6-level responsibilities, or an early Band 6 therapist seeking a specialist multidisciplinary setting. You’ll manage an appropriate paediatric caseload, work independently and help support the development of Speech and Language Therapy Assistants.
The Role
You’ll deliver individual paediatric Speech and Language Therapy, completing assessments, developing evidence-based intervention plans and writing clear clinical reports. You’ll work with children and families, and collaborate with schools and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Responsibilities include:
- Completing standardised and informal assessments and interpreting findings.
- Planning and delivering individual therapy for children with communication needs, including autistic children.
- Managing an appropriate clinical caseload and producing reports and recommendations.
- Working with families, schools and other professionals.
- Supporting and developing therapy assistants within agreed responsibilities.
- Contributing to multidisciplinary meetings, staff training, audits and service development.
- Maintaining accurate records and high standards of safeguarding and professional practice.
About you
You’ll need current HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist, relevant paediatric experience, and experience supporting autistic children or children with complex communication needs. You should be confident assessing, planning interventions, writing clinical reports and managing an appropriate caseload.
We’re particularly interested in clinicians who can demonstrate sound clinical judgement, initiative and an interest in supporting assistants or junior colleagues. Experience with AAC, parent coaching, staff training, specialist schools, EHCPs or approaches such as SCERTS would be an advantage.
Clinics and Working Pattern
This is one vacancy covering three clinics: Walthamstow (E17), Kilburn (NW6) and Hayes, Bromley (BR2). You’ll need to be willing and realistically able to work across all three locations.
The role is permanent and full-time, with 37.5 working hours per week:
- Wednesday to Friday: 11am–7pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9am–5pm
- Monday and Tuesday: non-working days
Weekend availability is essential. Please consider the three-site travel and working pattern before applying.
Salary and Benefits
The salary is £35,000–£43,000 per year, depending on experience.
The package includes:
- Approximately 7½ weeks’ annual leave, including bank holidays. Leave is allocated around one week at Easter, the whole of August and two weeks over Christmas.
- £500 annual CPD budget and £500 annual wellbeing allowance.
- Pension contribution.
- Regular clinical and management supervision, mentoring and autism training.
- A structured development pathway towards Band 6-level responsibilities.
- Opportunities to develop specialist skills and contribute to team and service development.
- Skilled Worker visa sponsorship may be available for eligible HCPC-registered candidates; eligibility is assessed individually.
