The Role
Overseas Station Engineer – LHR
The individual will be required to provide licensed aircraft engineering support for British Airways and Customer Airlines both worldwide and home locations as required.
What You’ll Do
- Member of a small team of certifying engineers prepared to carryout short term postings anywhere on the BA network.
- Prepared to be rostered in home maintenance bases as required.
- Maintain the highest airworthiness, quality, safety, and performance standards, to ensure all company and legal requirements appertaining to aircraft maintenance and inspection are complied with.
- Customer Service orientated when in liaison with British Airways Line Maintenance station personnel and customers.
- Ensure BA and Customer Line Maintenance operations for the Station/Area are delivered to BA, Customer, UK CAA, EASA or National Aviation Authority Compliance Standards.
- Manage a station as directed by the Station Maintenance Manager or Area Maintenance Manager to deliver operational, safety, quality and financial targets.
- Represent British Airways Line Maintenance as and when required during contact with customers and local regulatory bodies.
- Ability to hold at least three current Boeing/Airbus aircraft types. As well as engine variants and avionics extension authorisations, in order to support BA and Customer aircraft.
- Complete and maintain compliance with all Company training requirements required to carry out the role and work to the required Company and Health & Safety standards.
- Ability to understand business needs & required action to support Business objectives.
- Interpersonal skills that suit a dynamic environment.
- Culturally aware, capable of working and managing across cultural boundaries.
- Demonstrate a high degree of problem solving & trouble shooting skills.
- Demonstrate technical skills & knowledge within an aircraft maintenance environment.
- PC literate, able to demonstrate an understanding and capability in all BA Engineering systems including SAP.
- Planning & negotiation skills.
Hold a Full UK CAA B1 licence or equivalent on at least two current Boeing/Airbus aircraft types (Essential). Three types are desirable.
- Must be able to hold a working visa & petition to work in North America (BA will support application). (Essential)
- Demonstrable aircraft maintenance experience (6 months within the last 2 years). (Essential)
- Team leading experience. (Desirable)
