Role Description The Occupational Therapist (OT) – Reading is a full-time, on-site role based in Reading, providing therapeutic support to individuals in their homes and community settings. The OT will assess clients’ functional abilities, develop and implement personalised rehabilitation plans, and recommend adaptive equipment or environmental modifications to improve safety and independence. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting assessments and progress, educating clients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, and reviewing treatment plans regularly. The role may involve working with pediatric and adult clients, supporting a wide range of physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to enhance daily living skills.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation to assess needs and design effective treatment plans.
- Solid foundation in Medicine and clinical practice relevant to home-based care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong Communication skills for working with clients, families, and healthcare professionals, including clear documentation and reporting.
- Experience or interest in Pediatrics, with the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches for children and young people.
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current professional registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Previous experience in community, home care, or social care settings is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage caseloads effectively, and maintain high professional standards.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for home visits, as required.
