Flexible Working Pattern

Help us create a better future, quicker

The O&M Engineer - Technical Projects will join the new Technical Management Team within Offshore Wind Operation & Maintenance (O&M) - Operations Engineering.

The team plays a critical role within the operation and maintenance division of the offshore business to support asset performance and growth objectives as our offshore facilities expand. We work both in support of our existing operational sites and contribute to the development of our future wind farms. The team sits within the wider Operations Engineering team, which is responsible for asset performance and technical integrity (electrical, mechanical, SCADA, structural, turbines).

We are looking for an engaged technical project engineer to join the team to deliver technical projects, drive forward continuous improvement initiatives, and prepare for and support the adoption of digital tools. There will be a particular focus on standardisation, innovation, optimisation of onshore/offshore workscopes and capturing of lessons learned. As part of this, there will be the opportunity to develop small-scale digital tools in-house using coding and low-code coding tools, in support of team activities and technical engineering issues.

This role is a unique opportunity to work with a variety of teams and disciplines across the business and observe the impacts of your efforts.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be responsible for the delivery of assigned technical projects from initiation to completion to achieve project objectives within designated timelines, budgets, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), legal, regulatory and quality requirements.

Technical projects will include support to operational, inspection and maintenance activities, capturing operational experience and inputting this to new wind farm projects, identifying, preparing for and managing implementation of digital tools as well as developing technical specifications, strategies, processes and procedures. This will aid the Operations Engineering Team in striving for efficiency and excellence in delivering safe, reliable and efficient asset performance and in implementing a successful asset management system.

We will look to you to identify opportunities and deliver improvements in maintenance strategies, repair solutions, risk mitigation, processes and ways of working. You will have a role in capturing and sharing insights, best practice and lessons learned, and sharing across our operational sites and future wind farms under development, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Define and govern O&M data requirements and handover standards, ensuring the successful transition of asset, maintenance and technical data from project delivery teams, OEMs and contractors into operational systems and business processes, supporting operational readiness and long-term asset management.

You will interface with, and coordinate the technical inputs, of internal engineering and site teams and contractors to ensure productive relationships and a high-quality technical input

What You’ll Bring

Our ideal candidate for this role will possess sound technical knowledge relevant to the offshore wind industry (e.g. structures, cables, high voltage equipment, SCADA, electronics and data analysis), combined with proven project engineering and/or project management experience and a strong digital mindset.

Additionally, experience identifying, implementing or developing digital solutions to support engineering, maintenance and asset management activities would be advantageous (e.g. Microsoft Power Platform, Python, SAP PM/CMMS systems and data analytics platforms).

Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), particularly SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM), would be advantageous, including asset data management, maintenance planning, work management and project-to-operations data transitions.

You will have well-developed report writing and presentation skills, along with excellent organisational and communication skills. Be a proactive team player with experience and skills working in multi-discipline projects, in an international environment, and have confidence working with management with an ability to influence and develop key project and business decisions.

We are looking for you to hold experience in working on continuous improvement projects and optimising ways of working with tenacity, persistence and determination to succeed in overcoming obstacles with innovative and creative thinking within the engineering fields and in adoption of digital tools.

You will possess excellent planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions.

What’s In It For You

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
