As Australia develops a sovereign naval nuclear capability, we are seeking expressions of interest from experienced UK Nuclear Safety professionals interested in relocating to Australia and contributing to one of the most significant nuclear programmes in the world. 

 

Working alongside specialists from Australia, the UK and across our global business, you will have the opportunity to shape the safety approaches, assurance frameworks and technical justifications that will underpin Australia's future nuclear enterprise. 

 

Your Opportunity 

Whether you are a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer, Senior Safety Case Engineer, Principal Safety Case Engineer or Technical Lead, this is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise to a nation-building programme while continuing to develop your career within a globally recognised nuclear business. 

You will have opportunities to: 

  • Develop and deliver complex nuclear safety cases and safety assessments. 

  • Support safety substantiation, engineering justification and hazard management activities. 

  • Contribute to regulatory engagement and licensing programmes. 

  • Provide technical assurance across major defence and nuclear projects. 

  • Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering, design and programme delivery teams. 

  • Support the development of Australia's sovereign nuclear capability and future nuclear workforce.

Where Your Experience Could Make an Impact 

Whether your background is in safety case development, safety assessment, engineering substantiation, nuclear assurance, regulatory support or hazard management, you'll have the opportunity to apply your expertise to programmes helping establish Australia's future naval nuclear capability. 

 

About You 

We are interested in hearing from professionals at all levels who bring: 

  • A degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or another STEM discipline, or a have completed a relevant industrial apprenticeship. 

  • Experience delivering nuclear safety case, safety assessment or safety assurance activities. 

  • Experience within defence nuclear, civil nuclear or other highly regulated industries. 

  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities. 

  • A commitment to technical excellence and continuous learning. 

  • Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership. 

 

Most importantly, you will be motivated by the opportunity to help establish a new sovereign nuclear capability and leave a lasting legacy for Australia's future nuclear industry. 

Due to the nature of our defence projects, successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance (Australian NV1 or UK SC/DV equivalent). We will support suitable candidates through the clearance process where required.

Relocation & International Candidates
