Requirements
Candidates must have proven experience as an SCL Nozzleman in tunnelling or underground construction and hold a valid CSCS card. A TSTS or equivalent tunnelling safety qualification is preferred, along with the ability to work flexible shifts in high-risk environments.
Job Description
Joseph Gallagher Ltd is seeking an experienced Nozzleman to join our tunnelling and heavy civil engineering operations. Working on major infrastructure projects across the UK, the successful candidate will play a key role in the safe and effective application of sprayed concrete lining (SCL) within shafts, tunnels and underground structures.
Responsibilities
Operate spray concrete equipment for the installation of Sprayed Concrete Lining (SCL).
Apply sprayed concrete in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
Work closely with Tunnel Managers, Shift Engineers and Mining Supervisors.
Carry out pre-use inspections and basic maintenance of spraying equipment.
Ensure compliance with project Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
Monitor concrete quality, rebound levels and finished profiles.
Assist with tunnel and shaft support activities as required.
Maintain accurate records and reporting of completed works.
Requirements
Proven experience as an SCL Nozzleman within tunnelling or underground construction.
Valid CSCS Card.
TSTS or equivalent tunnelling safety qualification preferred.
Experience working in tunnels, shafts or other underground environments.
Good understanding of sprayed concrete application techniques and quality standards.
Ability to work safely in high-risk construction environments.
Flexible approach to working shifts, nights and weekends where required
