Microsoft Fabric Platform Administrator / Owner
Location: London / Hybrid
Salary: £65,000
Employment Type: Permanent or 12-month FTC
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Platform Administrator / Owner to take day-to-day ownership of an enterprise Microsoft Fabric environment.
This is a hands-on platform administration role focused on keeping Fabric secure, stable, well governed and running effectively. You will act as the main operational point of contact for the platform, managing access, environments, deployments, monitoring, capacity and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day administration of the Microsoft Fabric platform.
- Manage Fabric capacities, workspaces, permissions and platform settings.
- Administer Development, Test, UAT and Production environments.
- Manage user access, security roles and service accounts.
- Monitor platform health, performance, usage and capacity.
- Investigate incidents and resolve platform issues.
- Manage deployment pipelines and support releases between environments.
- Maintain platform standards, documentation and operational runbooks.
- Support governance, compliance and access reviews.
- Work with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure the platform is configured correctly for their needs.
- Support CI/CD and deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
- Manage platform upgrades, new features and configuration changes.
- Liaise with Microsoft or third-party support where required.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine administration and support tasks.
Key Experience
- Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience managing Fabric capacities, workspaces and permissions.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Azure.
- Experience managing production cloud data platforms.
- Understanding of Fabric deployment pipelines and environment management.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD.
- Strong knowledge of identity, access and security within Microsoft environments.
- Experience monitoring platform performance and capacity.
- Good understanding of incident management and operational support.
- Comfortable being the go-to person for Fabric-related issues.
Profile
This role is best suited to someone who has previously acted as the administrator or technical owner of a Microsoft Fabric environment.
The focus is not on day-to-day data engineering. It is on owning and administering the platform itself — making sure it is secure, available, correctly configured, well governed and easy for Data and Analytics teams to use.
