MEICA Lead

Hampton, Middlesex (with travel to surrounding areas)

As MEICA Lead, you will oversee the successful MEICA and commissioning delivery of Thames Water AMP7 projects from design through to handover. You will provide technical leadership, ensure safe and efficient MEICA installation and commissioning, and work collaboratively with project teams, supply chain partners and the client. Your focus will be on driving quality, ensuring compliance, managing MEICA risks, and supporting projects to achieve timely, safe and successful Takeover.

What you'll be doing:

Project Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead MEICA and commissioning delivery across assigned projects, providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain a regular on ‑ site presence, ensuring MEICA works are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme and quality standards.
  • Support Project Managers in achieving smooth handover, resolving snags, and evidencing commissioning and performance testing.

Technical & Design Interface

  • Coordinate and review MEICA technical solutions, ensuring compliance with design, client asset standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with design teams to define MEICA and commissioning strategies, ensuring early supply chain integration and consistent approaches.
  • Ensure commissioning plans, strategies and documentation are developed on time and align with project deliverables.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety culture, undertaking inspections and ensuring MEICA safe systems of work are implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure all MEICA installation and commissioning activities meet required technical standards (Thames Water Specifications, WIMES, etc.).
  • Work with Quality teams to implement quality plans and provide evidence of compliance.

Planning, Reporting & Resource Management

  • Forecast MEICA delivery needs, manage allocated MEICA/commissioning resources and ensure effective performance.
  • Provide regular reporting on MEICA progress, risks, issues, programme updates and change control.
  • Coordinate with planners to ensure commissioning activities are fully integrated into programme updates.

Stakeholder & Supply Chain Engagement

  • Act as a key technical interface with the client, design teams, subcontractors and specialist support functions.
  • Support MEICA procurement, package selection and supplier engagement, ensuring clarity of scope and deliverables.
  • Oversee training requirements, including coordination of specialist training from suppliers.

About you:

  • Significant experience in MEICA and/or commissioning within the water industry.
  • Proven ability to lead MEICA/commissioning teams and manage client interfaces.
  • Strong technical knowledge of water industry processes, mechanical and electrical equipment, and commissioning methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering MEICA works to strict deadlines and programme requirements.
  • Understanding of health, safety and environmental standards and safe systems of work.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain input across design, procurement and delivery stages.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Relevant CSCS/ECS card.
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
  • SSSTS (minimum) / SMSTS (preferred).
  • First Aid at Work (preferred).
  • BS7671 18th Edition qualification.
