Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Laboratory within (Blood sciences) based at (University Hospital Crosshouse.

Hours And Shift Pattern

Post 1 - 36 hrs per week to be worked over a 24/7 shift pattern

Post 2 - 36 hrs per week to be worked over a 24/7 shift pattern

Post 3 21.5 hrs per week to be worked over a 24/7 shift pattern

The above 3 posts are offered on a permanent basis

Post 4 21.5 hrs per week to be worked over a 24/7 shift pattern

The above post is offered on a fixed term basis until March 2027.

What You Will Do

• Job Purpose: To provide support to the scientific staff within the laboratories by performing essential pre-analytical processing and post-analytical disposal of specimens on a 24/7 shift pattern and between University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr.
• To respond to clinical staff requests for biochemical investigations by the accurate, precise, consistent, safe and speedy processing of patient specimens.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job

• Educated as a minimum in a science based qualification to SVQ Level 3/HNC level or equivalent knowledge and expertise.
• Ongoing training including mandatory updates and refresher courses.
• The post holder will be required to complete the mandatory Health Care Support Worker Workbook
• Completed the appropriate corporate records management training and are aware of legislation and organisational polices/guidelines
