Building Services Consultancy
Location: Bristol (Hybrid Working Available)

Hays are delighted to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in the appointment of a Mechanical Associate Director to join their growing Building Services team in Bristol.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced mechanical building services professional who is looking to take a strategic leadership role within an established and highly respected consultancy. You will play a key part in driving project delivery, developing client relationships, mentoring engineering teams, and contributing to the continued growth of the business across the South West and beyond.

The Role

As Mechanical Associate Director, you will provide technical and commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects within sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, life sciences, defence and public sector developments.

Key responsibilities will include:

-Leading multidisciplinary building services projects from concept through to completion.
-Managing and developing client relationships to secure repeat and new business opportunities.
-Providing technical oversight and quality assurance across mechanical engineering designs.
-Supporting business development activities, bids and tenders.
-Mentoring and developing engineers at all levels.
-Working closely with Directors to support strategic growth plans.
-Managing project financial performance, resource planning and risk management.
-Representing the business at industry events and networking opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

-Significant experience within Mechanical Building Services Engineering.
-Proven track record of leading major projects within a consultancy environment.
-Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and profitability.
-Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
-Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
-Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
-Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
-A passion for delivering sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
