We're looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Bristol-based PCR team. Key Responsibilities

As a key member of a four-person secretarial team, you will provide high-quality support to fee earners and contribute to the smooth running of the wider practice.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing complex diaries and coordinating meetings
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documentation from digital dictation
  • Supporting fee earners with day-to-day matter administration
  • Building strong relationships with clients and their support teams
  • Managing case management systems and opening new matters
  • Maintaining accurate client and matter records
  • Processing incoming and outgoing post and electronic documentation
  • Preparing court bundles and client documentation using PDF Docs or BundleDocs
  • Coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Assisting with business development activities, client events and team communications
  • Supporting billing processes, expense claims, disbursements and e-payments
  • Monitoring outstanding invoices and assisting with debt management activities
  • Handling confidential information in accordance with firm policies and data security requirements
  • Working collaboratively across the secretarial team to ensure effective workload management and service delivery

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:
Essential
  • Previous Legal Secretary experience within a law firm
  • Strong typing skills, with a minimum speed of 65 WPM
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using document and case management systems
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within a busy environment
  • A client-focused mindset and commitment to service excellence
Desirable
  • Secretarial NVQ, Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with iManage/FileSite, Visualfiles, 3E, Chrome River and/or BigHand
  • Experience supporting litigation or dispute resolution teams
