A rare in-house opportunity to sit at the centre of financial markets regulation and trading transactions for a leading global trading firm.
As Legal Counsel, Financial Markets & Regulatory (APAC), you’ll advise on licensing and regulatory matters as the business expands into new markets, while negotiating prime brokerage and other trading agreements and onboarding counterparties across the region.
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, this is a commercially focused role with genuine regional reach and exposure to complex, fast-moving markets.
What you’ll do
- Provide licensing and regulatory advice across APAC as the business enters new markets
- Advise on financial markets regulation and trading transactions across core investment products
- Negotiate prime brokerage and other trading agreements
- Lead counterparty onboarding and manage associated legal risk
- Partner closely with senior legal, trading and business stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Around 6–9 years’ PQE
- Top-tier private practice experience in financial regulation, capital markets or banking
- Strong multi-jurisdictional APAC experience; Hong Kong and Singapore backgrounds are highly relevant
- A commercially astute, pragmatic lawyer who enjoys working at pace in a dynamic trading environment
