School: The Joint Institute of UJN and GCU
Contract: Full-time/Fixed term for 3 years
Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and the University of Jinan are proud to launch the The Joint Institute of UJN and GCU, welcoming its first cohort of students in September 2026. GCU is seeking to appoint several lecturers to support the delivery of their degrees at the Joint Institute.
Located in Jinan, the vibrant capital of Shandong Province and one of China's leading educational, cultural, and economic centres, the Joint Institute combines GCU's distinctive, professionally focused approach to higher education with the academic strengths and regional reputation of the University of Jinan. Together, the two institutions will provide students with a truly international learning experience, preparing graduates to thrive in an increasingly global workforce.
Lecturers will contribute to the delivery of GCU programmes at the University of Jinan and GCU Joint Institute. They will deliver teaching, learning and assessment across undergraduate and postgraduate provision and provide academic support and deliver an excellent student experience.
The postholder will contribute to programme delivery in accordance with GCU academic standards, policies and quality requirements, ensuring consistency in academic delivery and student experience between programmes delivered at the Joint Institute and those delivered at the Glasgow campus.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across both institutions, the postholder will contribute to the planning, development, contextualisation and review of programme content, participate in quality assurance and enhancement activities, and support the delivery of programmes within an international higher education environment. The postholder will also contribute to the development of programmes that reflect relevant professional, industry and international perspectives within their discipline area.

Annual Leave
35 days and 10 days public holiday- The annual leave entitlements and holiday schedule for staff shall be governed by China's official public holiday calendar and related institutional policies.
