The role
The School of Construction, Property and Surveying at London South Bank University is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) with expertise in Architectural Technology to join our academic community.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's largest built environment schools, with more than 2,000 students studying across a diverse portfolio of programmes in architectural technology, building surveying, construction management, project management, quantity surveying, and real estate. The School benefits from strong employer partnerships, a substantial apprenticeship provision, and professional accreditation through bodies including APM, CABE, CIAT, CIOB and RICS. The School maintains a strong focus on digital construction, sustainability and professional practice, ensuring our graduates are equipped to meet the challenges of an evolving built environment sector.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery and continued development of our Architectural Technology programmes, bringing contemporary industry knowledge and innovative teaching approaches to inspire and support student success. You will contribute to teaching, assessment, curriculum enhancement and student support activities, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the School to deliver an outstanding student experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of digital construction and design technologies, including Building Information Modelling (BIM) and industry-standard software such as Revit and AutoCAD. The role also offers opportunities to contribute more broadly across the School's built environment portfolio and to engage with employers, professional bodies and industry partners to ensure our curriculum remains relevant, inclusive and professionally focused.

What You Will Bring
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a good honours degree in Architectural Technology or a closely related built environment discipline.
- Hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional and industry experience.
- Possess strong subject knowledge and professional experience in architectural technology, digital technologies, building design, construction technology and professional practice.
- Demonstrate experience of teaching, training, mentoring or supporting learning within higher education, further education or industry settings.
- Have the ability to design and deliver engaging, inclusive and industry-informed learning experiences.
- Be committed to delivering an outstanding student experience and supporting student achievement and progression.
- Have experience of curriculum development, assessment and module enhancement activities.
- Demonstrate expertise in digital construction, including Building Information Modelling (BIM), and the use of industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD and related digital design and modelling technologies.
- Have an understanding of contemporary issues affecting the built environment sector, including sustainability, digital transformation, building safety and evolving professional practice.
- Be able to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, employers and professional bodies.
- Show a commitment to scholarship, professional development and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Be willing to contribute, where appropriate, to teaching across the School's wider portfolio of built environment programmes.
