Lab Technician

Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU)

This role is office based in Manchester.

Job Overview: 

Responsible for assisting with a variety of routine activities associated with receipt, QC, and storage of clinical specimens.

Maintains glassware for the laboratory, washes, rinses, dries, distributes and stores glassware such as test tubes, beakers, flasks and cylinder.

Provides administrative and technical support to the lab.

Logging and tracking samples accurately and processing biological samples from clinical trials participants along with managing sample storage and shipments.

Performing pregnancy & drugs of abuse testing.

Preparing laboratory supplies for study visits and supporting the general organisation of study set up and smooth running of the laboratory.

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or another relevant field.
  • 1 year experience, recent graduates welcome.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, quality control and validation procedures.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Written and verbal communication skills including good command of English language.
  • Clinical research experience preferred.
