Build technology used by millions of customers

Join the technology division of a major UK financial services organisation and help develop secure, reliable digital products that make a genuine difference to millions of customers.

This is far more than a traditional financial services environment. Technology sits at the heart of the business, with engineers solving live problems, working with a modern technology stack and deploying code that directly shapes how people manage their money.

During the graduate programme, you’ll complete three rotations across core engineering teams. This will give you broad technical experience and support your development into a well-rounded, full-stack software engineer.

What you could be working on

Depending on your team and rotation, you could be:

  • Developing mobile features used by millions of customers
  • Optimising high-traffic APIs to create seamless digital experiences
  • Delivering site-reliability improvements that keep critical systems stable and secure
  • Building and improving production-quality software
  • Solving complex technical and customer problems
  • Collaborating with engineers, product specialists and other cross-functional teams
  • Taking code from initial idea through to a live production environment
  • Contributing to digital experiences that change how customers manage their money

The problems are real, the technology is modern and the impact is immediate. Your code could be running in production within your first few months.

Training and support

You’ll receive high-quality professional and technical training throughout the programme.

You won’t be expected to navigate the experience alone. You’ll be supported by:

  • A dedicated manager
  • A professional mentor
  • A peer buddy
  • Experienced engineers across each of your rotations

You’ll also have access to up to £5,000 in funding for external qualifications, helping you continue developing your technical capabilities and career.

Eligibility

To apply, you must:

  • Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD qualification and due to graduate in 2027; or
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD qualification during 2026
  • Have a strong foundation in coding using at least one programming language
  • Currently have the right to work in the UK, including through a Student or Graduate visa

Your degree subject and grade do not matter. Applications are welcomed from every academic background, provided you can demonstrate your coding ability.

Previous professional software engineering experience is not required.

What we’re looking for

We want to see:

  • A strong foundation in coding using any programming language
  • A structured approach to solving complex technical problems
  • The flexibility and aptitude to learn new tools and technologies
  • Clear and effective communication
  • The ability to collaborate with others
  • Curiosity, initiative and enthusiasm for technology
  • A genuine interest in building digital products that improve customer experiences

What’s included

The benefits package includes:

  • A £5,000 joining bonus
  • Competitive pension and performance-related bonus schemes
  • 25 days’ annual leave, increasing with tenure
  • The option to purchase five additional days of annual leave
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Up to £5,000 towards external qualifications
  • Structured technical and professional training
  • Support from a manager, professional mentor and peer buddy
  • Hybrid working, with two optional work-from-home days each week

The Nottingham office includes an on-site gym, restaurant and dedicated learning space. The London office includes a rooftop running track and coffee bar.

The recruitment process

CVs are not used to assess candidates, so there is no need to tailor your CV or submit a cover letter.

The process includes:

  1. An initial application and eligibility review
  2. Online testing assessing the core skills required for the programme
  3. A one-way video interview exploring your motivation and relevant strengths
  4. A virtual assessment day including a pair-programming exercise, presentation and strengths-based interview
  5. An in-person final interview with a senior software engineering manager

Applications are welcomed from candidates of all backgrounds who meet the eligibility requirements. Women and people from groups currently underrepresented within technology are particularly encouraged to apply.

Apply as soon as possible, as applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and the opportunity may close before the advertised deadline.
