Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Chinese-speaking Immigration Paralegal to join our London office on a full-time, office-based basis.
Working closely with our solicitors, you will play a key role in supporting a broad range of UK immigration matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in immigration law within a dynamic and growing legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist solicitors with the preparation and management of UK immigration applications across a range of visa categories.
- Draft and prepare legal documents, application forms, client correspondence, witness statements, and supporting representations.
- Gather, review, and organise supporting evidence to ensure applications are accurate and complete.
- Conduct legal research on UK immigration legislation, policies, and Home Office guidance.
- Liaise with clients to obtain information and provide updates throughout their matters.
- Maintain accurate case files, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely submission of applications.
- Communicate with the Home Office and other relevant authorities where appropriate.
- Provide language support for Chinese-speaking clients, including explaining legal procedures and translating documents when required.
- Support the wider legal team with administrative and case management tasks as needed.
Requirements
Essential
- Fluent in both English and Chinese (spoken and written).
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
- Excellent drafting, research, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and prioritise competing workloads.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Proactive, resilient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment, particularly in immigration law.
- Experiences preparing immigration applications across various visa routes and different jurisdictions.
- Paralegal qualification or additional legal training.
