Healthcare Assistant - Outpatients | Full Time | 37.5 Hours | Cambridge |

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our busy Outpatients team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of outpatient clinics while providing exceptional care and support to patients throughout their healthcare journey.

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant within our Outpatients department, you will:

  • Support qualified nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Assist with a range of clinical duties within outpatient clinics.
  • Undertake phlebotomy procedures with confidence and professionalism.
  • Prepare clinical areas and ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients.
  • Monitor and maintain patient comfort, dignity and wellbeing at all times.
  • Assist with administrative and clinical tasks to ensure clinics run efficiently.
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing excellent customer service and communication.

Who we're looking for

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a hospital setting.
  • An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable).
  • Experience within an outpatient, surgical or acute healthcare environment (desirable).
  • Phlebotomy skills (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, professional and flexible approach.
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care.

Working Hours

37.5 hours per week

Our Outpatients department operates:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00 - 21:00
  • Friday: 07:00 - 20:00
  • Saturday: 07:00 - 14:00
Flexibility to work across these operating hours is required.
