Requirements
Applicants must be NMC-registered nurses or midwives, hold a Level 6 qualification at 2:2 or above, and be able to start the programme at the University of Greenwich in January 2027. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme, strong communication and teamwork, leadership and decision-making, emotional maturity, and the academic ability to complete an intensive year of study.
Job Description

Are you eager to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the public health approach to reducing health inequalities? At LGT, SCPHN’s (Health Visitors) lead on the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, provision of Universal Services and Targeted interventions to those children and families with the greatest need.
We are invested in the development of Public Health Nursing, and this is underpinned by our Public Health Nursing strategy and training programme for all roles within the PHN teams.
All Health Visitors and Assistant HV Practitioners have corporate membership with the Institute of Health Visiting (iHv) which offers a wealth of professional training programmes and resources to support excellent practice.

If you are successfully shortlisted, interviews will take place at Downham Health Centre BR1 5EP – dates to be confirmed. The interview will be in 2 parts; part 1 shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend together as a group to discuss an unseen topic/question. Part 2 will be the individual, panelled interviews where you will be invited to deliver a short 5-minute presentation at the beginning; details for the latter will be provided once candidates are shortlisted.

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust formed in 2013 is responsible for University Hospital Lewisham (UHL), Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), a range of community services in Lewisham and some services at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup.
